Joep De Mol

Joep De Mol is a Dutch professional hockey player.  He plays club hockey in the Netherlands for Oranje Rood HC.  He played in the youth ranks for HC Tilburg before making the step to Oranje Zwart HC which became Oranje Rood HC after the merge in 2016 with another club.  With Oranje Zwart HC he won the national title in the season 2014/15 and 2015/16.  In 2015 he won with the team the Euro Hockey League and in 2016 he won the silver medal in the same league.

International Career

De Mol made his debut for the senior national team at the 2015 Hockey World League Final when he replaced the injured Sander Baart. He was named as a reserve for the 2018 World Cup. He was called up during the knockout stage to replace the injured Sander de Wijn.  In June 2019, he was selected in the Netherlands squad for the 2019 EuroHockey Championship.  They won the bronze medal by defeating Germany 4–0.  In 2021 he was again selected to participate at the Tokyo Olympic Games and finished 6th.  In the same year Joep joined the team for the European Championships and won the gold medal by defeating Germany in the shoot-outs.  After missing the selection for the squad to go to the World Cup in 2023 he got back in the team for the European Championships held in Monchengladbach and won the gold medal against England by defeating them 2-1.  

Joep is currently back in action with Oranje Rood HC and is preparing for the coming summer Olympics of Paris.
