Arthur De Sloover

Arthur De Sloover is a Belgian professional hockey player.  He plays club hockey in the Netherlands for Oranje Rood HC last season.  He came from Beerschot where he played for 7 seasons and with who he played the final of the National Championship in 2019 and qualified the club for the first time ever for the Euro Hockey League. 

International Career

Arthur De Sloover made his debut for the Belgian National Team in 2017.  In 2016 he won the Silver Medal at the Junior World Championship in Lucknow (IN).  The following year in 2017 he won the Silver Medal at the European Cup with the BNT in Amstelveen (NL).   He won with the BNT the World Cup in Bhubaneswar (IN) in december 2018 and the FIH Rising Star of the Year Award.  Several months later he lifted with his teammates the European Cup on home ground in Antwerp (BE).  He won the Pro League season 2020-2021 and in June 2021, he won with the BNT the Bronze Medal at the European Championship in Amstelveen (NL).  This summer he won at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games the Golden Medal after beating Australia after shoot outs in the final.  The next big challenge for the Red Lions was in 2023 at the World Cup in India.  The Red Lions lost the final and went home with the Silver Medal.  Last summer he played with the Lions the European Championship and won the Bronze Medal after defeating Germany in the small final.  

Arthur is currently back on the pitch with Oranje Rood HC and started also the preparation with the Red Lions for the Olympic Games of Paris in 2024.
